Bio



Mark S. Schneider, Ph.D., a licensed clinical psychologist for 20 years, specializes in anxiety disorders and behavioral medicine. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, he earned his Ph.D. at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.


His treatment approach keeps patients actively involved with their recovery and teaches them how to overcome stress and anxiety – to take back their lives.


Dr. Schneider has held faculty positions at the medical schools of Brown, Harvard, Tufts, and Duke Universities, and in the department of psychology at the University of Rhode Island. At Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., he was director of psychology of the Sleep Disorders Clinic and assistant director of Behavioral Medicine.

 

His accomplishments have made him a popular speaker who has presented more than 500 seminars to health care professionals on helping patients cope with medical
conditions including chronic pain, headaches, and diabetes, and accompanying anxiety and depression.

 

Earlier in his career, Dr. Schneider conducted research on doctor-patient communications, diabetes, and pediatric psychology. His articles have been published in many prominent psychology journals.
